Hi folks. I'm completely new to MIDI keyboards and software. I'm not a DJ etc. I play the piano, violin, recorder, saxophone, trumpet, and harmonica. I found GarageBand and it seems really easy to use. I have a few scores that have an arrangement for different instruments. I wanted to record playing the violin then mix it with the piano. It works great. However, my house is very small and my computer is hard to get to when playing the Keystation88. I tried using the record, play, and stop button but all it does is play a musical not.
I made sure I pressed the advance button, and the Mackie/HUI key, then the record button. Still just gives a musical note.
I found a forum article on here to download MIDI monitor. When I press the button it shows that output as:
11:49:48.499 From Port 2 Control 1 Controller 15 14
11:49:48.499 From Port 2 Control 1 Controller 47 69
11:49:48.630 From Port 2 Control 1 Controller 15 14
11:49:48.630 From Port 2 Control 1 Controller 47 5
If I press the Macki/HUI key twice then press the record button it outputs this:
11:54:41.252 From Port 2 Note On 1 B5 127
11:54:41.382 From Port 2 Note Off 1 B5 0
Is there any possible way to make the record, stop, and play button work in Garageband?
MacOS Version: 10.13.6
GarageBand Version: 10.3.1
Thank you!
